"Fried Green Tomatoes" Trailer*
*Although many don't consider "Fried Green Tomatoes"
to be a 'lesbian film,' we (my fellow lesbians and I) have always seen the lesbian relationship within the film. The
book makes Idgie's and Ruth's relationship obvious and treats it very matter-of-factly. The film posed their relationship
as more of a close friendship due to the time (1991) in which it was released and the desire to advertise the film in the main-stream.
If you haven't read the book, you MUST before you watch the movie again. Everybody always says that the book is so much
better than the movie, but in this case, it is exceptionally true!
